I`M STILL IN NOLLYWOOD-CHARLES ABAZEE

I am still in Nollywood, for an actor is an actor for life. Though I do movie productions and shoot musical videos more than acting, I have not left the industry,” Nollywood actor and music producer Charles Abazee told TNS when the magazine caught up with him at a popular fast-food joint at Ogudu, Lagos last weekend.
Charles who is at the present time more engaged in the production of music and breeding of new talents for the music industry than in making of films said inter alias, “I`ve achieved my dream as an actor. Alongside Felicia Owakwe, I have been putting a lot of my time trying to build up our record label. Presently I am shooting TV Soap. I am also working on the script of a movie. Entertainment is our business.
For till date, when I walked into a new place people tend to recognize my face. But I agree that it is also very important to be up to date. For if you acted in a movie you need to do new ones to replace the old ones to keep up dated.”
He however assessed the industry thus, “The Nigeria movie industry is a very fast moving industry. But some times I may not agree with some people that called themselves Heads of Guilds. I don’t like the idea that one person or a group would channel everything that comes in to the industry to their personal pockets. Apart from a few individuals that I consider to be selfish people, the industry is really fast growing. For the last time I check Nollywood is the third biggest movie industry in the world. But we still have to do more.”
Meanwhile on his love for music, the CEO of TVP Records said,” I love music from my childhood. This is not to say that I can sing. I won’t call myself a singer because I have never a demo in my life. But because I love I told myself why not set up an entertainment.”
