ATEKE TOM SINGS FOR IBINABO, HUBBY!

…Hosts stars at two-day event

If the likes of Michael Jackson, Bob Marley and Fela Anikulapo Kuti were to be alive, they would have been successfully challenged in a musical concert by High Chief Ateke Tom. Even 2face and Don Jazzy may find their hearts beating rapidly when they hear the man also called ‘The God Father’ sing so beautifully. Ateke rendered a few songs for the newly wedded Ibinabo and Uchenna Egbuka to the delight of the crowd. This was at the wedding ceremony of the president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Ibinabo Fiberisima now Mrs Egbuka in Okrika, Rivers State, on 18^th and 19^th December, 2014.

The ‘God Father’ also used the occasion to dispel rumours that he dated Ibinabo. He said, “Ibinabo is my sister. People have said a lot that I’m dating her; I told her not to worry herself about such rumours. They talk about her because she is important. She is somebody so they must talk about her. I am her Godfather who is also Somebody too. For her to have a brother like me is not easy. She must be proud of her brother; if every other person have people like me in their lives, they must be happy. It is the people that made me who I am today.”

He spoke further, “When she brought her husband to me, I told him, ‘This lady is my sister o.’ I told him to take care of her well. I know Uche is a good guy and he will be good to her.”

He also admonished the couple to be true and loving to each other. He told them that they are now one family and that Uche should not think of marrying another wife, while thanking God on their behalf.

After the initial celebration, Ateke then hosted members of Nollywood at his palatial white mansion for two nights. It was really a show of hospitality from a man many perceive from afar as ‘Bad.’ However, the Godfather, according to those that have been privilege to come close to him, is not only an amiable fun loving person; he is a benefactor to his people.
