3 week old Nigerian baby who can already feed herself

At just 3 weeks old, baby Amara Chiedozie can hold her feeding bottle...and her mum, 20 year old student Onyi Chiedozie, claims she's been doing this since was just three days old. How is this even possible? Her mum explains;

‘When we were feeding, she started shaking, then she just grabbed the bottle. She was holding it by herself. We couldn’t believe it because babies don’t normally do it that young. I’m so shocked that I have been documenting it every day. It’s unbelievable.

"When she doesn’t want it she will push it away. She isn’t strong enough to throw it away, but she does push it, like she does with her dummy. If she is really hungry, she starts shaking. Then she will just grab the bottle as you give it to her.’ Continue...

Cholera Kills 5 In Borno State

Borno residents At least five persons have died of a cholera outbreak at an Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp in Biu town, southern area of Borno State, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) said Saturday.

A statement by the agency’s Northeast Zone Maiduguri Office, signed by the zonal information officer, Abdulkadir Ibrahim, attributed the fatalities to cholera.

The worst outbreak of Ebola virus in history -- happening now in West Africa -- has claimed more than 700 lives, according to the latest count from the World Health Organization. The deaths occurred in Sierra Leone, Liberia, Guinea and Nigeria.
"This outbreak is moving faster than our efforts to control it," Margaret Chan, chief of the World Health Organization, said at a meeting, as reported by Reuters.

U.S. Doctor with Ebola Being Treated in Atlanta

 

The first Ebola victim to be brought to the United States from Africa was safely escorted into a specialized isolation unit Saturday at one of the nation's best hospitals, where doctors said they are confident the deadly virus won't escape.

Fear that the outbreak killing more than 700 people in Africa could spread in the U.S. has generated considerable anxiety among some Americans. But infectious disease experts said the public faces zero risk as Emory University Hospital treats a critically ill missionary doctor and a charity worker who were infected in Liberia.
