A
total of about 20 top Nigerian comedians are set to make God and His church
laugh. The rare show of extreme comedy is to take place at the National Holy
Ghost Church of Christ, Omoalade Alafia, Shomolu, Lagos on the 15th
June, 2014. It will witness the outpour of fun from Omini, Baba D Baba, Bow
Joint and lady comedian Mecfanny, among a host of many others. It is been put
together by TJ Holdsomething entertainment outfit. Its chief host is one time
music enthusiast Rev. Dr. Moses N. Albert, the regional overseer of the NHGCC,
Shomolu.
The
event tagged An Evening of Pure Gospel and Comedy, Open Laughter In The House
of God, according to TJ and the host Minister, is to bring laughter to the
house of God.
Moreover
Dr. Albert did tell the press at the media presentation of the event that the
NHGCC has joined the rest of the civilised world in calling for the quick
release or rescue of the Chibok Girls.
According
to him, “The Bible told us that God laughed. This event is to make the people
know that our Lord is not a frowning God. Comedy event of this nature should be
part of the church. But such should be tailored to suite the Gospel of Christ.
The jokes must not be corrupt.
And
I will use this medium to join the church in asking for the immediate release
of the Boko Haram held Chibok Girls. This is also to say that the acts of
terrorism should come to an end in Nigeria.”
