With
more than 38 days into the kidnapping of the Chibok Girls and the recent
abduction of the 11 Waranbe girls, all students, two of the four reigning
queens of Miss Earth, Amarachi Uwakwe (Miss Eco Friendly) and Tessy BiboweiKiriboamoere
(Miss Water) have jointly called of both the Federal Government of Nigeria and
the terrorist sect, Boko Haram to keep the girls child off their crisis. This
was made during their “I Love My Planet Earth” School Tour to Jiba Nursery
& Primary School, Surulere, Lagos.
According
to the two beauty queens, “the girls must be set free by Boko Haram. Girls or
women are not supposed to be used as tools to settle disputes. If there are
problems such should be settled, leaving mothers and children alone. The
mothers and their children are the leaders of tomorrow. If there are no mothers
the world would not exist. The girl child needs education, so Boko Haram should
leave us out of this trouble. This is why we must all come together to fight
the terrorist sect.”
They
acknowledged the government efforts so far on the release of the girls and
envisaged their return to society soon.
