NOTHING WRONG WITH CULTISM-AMUWO ODOFIN COUNCIL BOSS, ADEWALE

Despite the incessant destruction of lives and property orchestrated by cult members at Nigeria`s tertiary institutions the Executive Chairman of Amuwo Odofin Local Government Council of Lagos state, Adewale Adebowale has come out with a lone voice, saying that there is nothing wrong with Cultism. The former President of the Lagos State University`s Student Union (SUG) and Secretary to the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) made this declaration during his Council`s presentation of 300 JAMB forms to indigent students in his locality.

He told the gathering of old and young faces that the original idea of the creation of cultism in Nigeria`s University system was not to cause mayhem or to kill and maim but to fight against the injustice of the authorities. This he said also was prevalent in some European and South American countries.
The fiery looking erstwhile NADECO and PRONACO chieftain was also quoted as telling the faces that gathered at the event, which also marked the inauguration of the new Exco of the central committee of Amuwo Odofin LGA Community Development Associations that, “Above all, another thing that is your right- same sex but we shall talk on it later.”
However what the self acclaimed Mayor of Festac Village meant by the statement on same sex after the ban of the act by the Jonathan led Federal Government could not be ascertained before going to press. Both statements elicited covert reactions from some of the elderly women seated as they were heard whispering if they had heard the Chairman correctly. It was then that one of the white clad women quietly repeated after the Chairman, “Nothing is wrong with cultism?”
While wearing a Soyinka style wide afro hairdo, the Lagos`s youngest LGA Boss also took time to blow the horn of his administration and party, the All Progressive Party (APC). To that he said, “PDP can’t guaranty jobs for 20% of Nigerians” and continued, “Come 2015 the APC will turn Nigeria for good.”
Adewale who voiced the likes of Mandela, Soyinka, and Beko Ransome Kuti as some of his mentors retraced his long held decision not to cut his hair to the high cost of doing it.
He went on at several times of his over 30 minutes speech to say inter alia, that Festac is to build a gas propelled 500 megawatts electricity generating facility that will provide constant electricity for the people of Amuwo Odofin. To him the issue of shortage of electricity supply in Nigeria will become a thing of the past if the FG will freely give every section of the Nigerian fabric equal opportunity in the power sector. However he added that the Federal Government in conjunction with the Lagos State Government, the Amuwo Odofin LGA and some other interested parties shall soon turn Festac Village into a Mega City.
He capped his verbal communication with a narration on how his LGA is to give out 4 Hyundai vehicles to security agencies in his domain, that his council is also probing an N48m teacher pay bill. Of the JAMB forms, he said the council bought them on credit.
Adewale left the scene with a comrade salutation, “Aluta Continua!”
