WALLOWING IN OUR CESSPIT OF CORRUPTION AND HOLDING ON TO A TATTERED IMAGE ... WE DONT GIVE A DAMN : $20bn Forensic Audit: Okonjo-Iweala Stresses Need For Urgency ... LeadershipNews

The minister of finance and coordinating minister for the economy,Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has asked for urgent action with regard to an independent forensic audit of conflicting claims of unaccounted funds made by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mallam Sanusi Lamdio Sanusi.
In a statement sent to the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), the minister said, “My position on this has been clear from the start. The ministry of finance’s reconciliation showed a shortfall of $10.8 billion in NNPC remittances to the Federation Account. After this, the conflicting claims continued with new figures such as $20 billion being mentioned.
“So since February 13, I have called for an independent forensic audit.President Goodluck Jonathan, indeed announced last night that there will be an investigation into whether there are any funds missing from NNPC. He also indicated that the correct process needs to be followed in this investigation and I understand that the entity that has the proper authority to initiate such an investigation is the Auditor-General of the Federation,” she said.
“I therefore want to see the truth from an investigation under the auspices of the auditor- general, which in my view should be undertaken as a matter of extreme urgency by independent external auditors,” the minister added.

DANGERS OF BREAST MILK, EXPERTS RECOUNT

  • Breast milk is 'no better for a baby than bottled milk' - and it INCREASES the risk of asthma, expert claims

  • Dr Cynthia Colen says the benefits of breastfeeding are exaggerated
  • She says comparisons of breastfed and bottle-fed siblings show the bottle-fed ones perform no worse than the breastfed ones in the long run
  • Says studies that show benefits to breastfeeding don't compare children from same family, so factors other than breastfeeding could be responsible

The benefits of breastfeeding have been exaggerated, a new study has suggested.
A comparison of siblings fed differently during infancy suggests breast milk is no better than bottled milk at improving long-term health.
Dr Cynthia Colen, from Ohio State University, said her findings are not meant to challenge established ideas, but could prevent women who cannot breastfeed from feeling stigmatised.

Prayer my father Justice CA Oputa' - Charly Boy Cries Out

Written by Charles Oputa
Ever since I can remember, I have always admired my parents. Even in their old age, I still see them holding hands every day. As a young lad in the early 50s, I saw dad and mum dance a lot, as if they were rehearsing for a dance competition. They argued a lot and laughed a lot, I just couldn't tell anymore when they were quarrelling or playing. There was a lot of love in my family, for a long time, my folks were like two teenagers in love, there was so much kissing between them that I came to accept that as a show of love and wanted to kiss every girl I fancied. They loved to entertain, so we continuously had guest come over. I grew up believing that every day was some ‘kinda’ celebration. Some of the things that molded me were not only my father’s regimental training and how he was always quick with the cane, but his love for my mum also had a great impart on me. This is the setting, the background of love I am coming from, my pedigree, my rich heritage. It is my pride.

VIRGINS COMPETITION KICKS OFF

29 year old Rabelani Ramali (pictured right), a community worker from rural Limpopo province in South African has launched a contest in the country where girls who are virgins at 35 and below would be rewarded with R100,000 or less plus medals; gold, silver or bronze, depending on their ages.

Rabelani who has fathered five children by four women out of wedlock, says he decided to come up with this idea to help checkmate the rate of unwanted pregnancies and HIV cases amongst south African women. He said his NGO, SA Virgin Girls Awards, which was registered in November 2013, is set to take on this task as he has recruited 31 volunteer workers who would help disburse forms among women in schools, market, churches and other places.
Rabelani said he has contacted local medical doctors who have agreed to help him carry out the virginity test on the girls who would come forward to get tested.

R100,000 would be given to virgins between the ages of 31 and 35, R50,000 for those aged 26 to 30 and R25000 for those aged 21 to 25. He expects donors to make the prize money available to the winning contestants.

"God's grace is sufficient for my nakedness" - Maheeda

Maheeda, whose real name is Caroline Sam, says her going naked as a born again christian would never make God love her less. She says His Grace is sufficient for her. Currently promoting her music, Maheeda in an interview with Encomium said she doesn't have any problems exposing herself
"I dont have a problem doing what I do but I think its because of my job and I know most Christians would not understand. But I just believe that this is what I have to do to get attention especially when it comes to my job and I just believe His grace is enough for me. He loves me more than my nakedness. If you see God as a father and he sees you as a daughter, He would not because of your nakedness want to ruin you or kill you. That is how I see God. He understands me. He hates me but he loves me at the same time".
