Ige
Fast-rising actress, Biola Ige, talks about acting and her semi-nude picture that trended online
What triggered your interest in the make-believe industry?
I became an actress because I developed a passion for it. I had explored education and modelling as well. I strongly believed I was destined to become an actress. As fate would have it, I met some people in the movie industry who inspired me wholly. It was then I decided to take my first shot at acting and I haven’t looked back since then. l moved to Lagos after my university education. I went for auditions in Lagos and landed my first role in a movie produced by OJ Productions.

There's now a petition for Jay Z and Beyonce to take better care of daughter's hair

This is not cool. A petition has been launched on change.org asking Beyonce and Jay Z to comb their daughter Blue Ivy's hair...and so far it's gotten over 4,000 signatures..

The petition was started by a woman named Jasmine Toliver, and under her petition she wrote;
'As a woman who understands the importance of hair care, it's disturbing to watch a child suffering from the lack of hair moisture. The parents of Blue Ivy, Sean Carter aka Jay Z and Beyonce have failed at numerous attempts of doing Blue Ivy's hair. This matter has escalated to the child developing matted dreads and lint balls. Please let's get the word out to properly care for Blue Ivy hair.'
Not liking or criticizing Blue Ivy's hair is one thing, but putting up a petition on change.org to me is crossing the line. You can't tell a mother what to do or not to do with her own daughter's hair. One person even wrote "cruelty to children has to stop!" Cruelty? Hmmmm

You can’t stop Sanusi’s enthronement, NEF tells Presidency

Newly crowned Emir of Kano and former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi
The Northern Elders’ Forum has condemned alleged interference by the Presidency with the enthronement of the immediate past Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mallam Lamido Sanusi, as the new Emir of Kano.
The forum said it would be wrong for the Presidency to interfere in an ethno-religious tradition that is over 1000 years old.
Sanusi had succeeded Ado Bayero who died on June 6 at the age of 84 years after 50 years on the throne.
The Deputy National Chairman, NEF, Dr. Paul Unongo, alleged that the President Goodluck Jonathan administration had been hard on its critics and often rejected advice given to it. He said the President was being misled by his advisers.
He said, “Such is happening in Kano after somebody who was supposed to be the government’s enemy was chosen by the traditional people to be their emir. I saw the government reacting to a purely traditional and religious matter.

It seems the beef between K-solo and Timaya won’t stop anytime soon. After Kefee sadly passed on yesterday, her music colleague Timaya, who featured on her popular Kokoroko song went online to say how much he would miss her and how sad it is to lose a friend. No stopping for Funke Akindele

Coloured Girls
Whether she left her husband or he left her, Funke Akindele is still on top of her game. Of course, she has not allowed her marital saga to weigh her down; the actress is still on a roller coaster, upping her game.
Now, Funke is among other Nigerian actresses featuring in the Nigeria adaption of the world acclaimed stage play, For Coloured Girls.
Directed by award playwright/ stage director Wole Oguntokun, For Coloured Girls is produced by ´Keke Hammond and tells the story of seven women who have suffered oppression in a racist and sexist society. The story consists seven nameless African-American women only identified by the colours they wore.
The play features actresses like Carol King, Osas Ighodaro, Matilda Obaseki ,Oreka Godis, Diana Yekinni and Ade Laoye.
Speaking about the stage play, Carol King said, “Being a Coloured Girl goes beyond skin colour. For me, it represents the travails every girl-child goes through and the fortitude needed for her individual journey to womanhood.”
In her own remarks, Osas said, “To be an artistic voice today and directly or indirectly touching base with past and current issues concerning all women and the girl-child means the world to me.”

Chibok girls: Obasanjo has access to Jonathan – FG

Jonathan and Obasanjo
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has access to President Goodluck Jonathan to make inputs towards rescuing the schoolgirls taken captive by Boko Haram from the Government Secondary School in Chibok on April 14, the Federal Government has said.
The Chairman, National Information Centre, Mr. Mike Omeri, stated this while answering questions from journalists on Obasanjo’s claim that he could help resolve issues with members of the terrorist group.
Obasanjo had, in a BBC Hausa service on Thursday, said he could help reach out to the insurgents for the release of the girls, but regretted that the Federal Government had not yet given him the green light to act.
Omeri said it was not proper for him to join issues with Obasanjo, but added that as a former President, he had the opportunity to make inputs into governance.

Jonathan to Kwankwaso: You’re a failure and desperate

Jonathan and Kwankwaso
In what appears as President Goodluck Jonathan’s response to Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso’s allegation that the President was out to kill him, two ministers apparently acting on behalf of the President blasted the governor in Abuja on Friday.
Separate statements issued by the Minister of Information, Mr. Labaran Maku, and Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Abdul Jelili Adesiyan, described Kwankwaso as “being desperate and paranoid.” They added that Kwankwaso’s outburst against the President was the height of irresponsibility and an indication of a failed governor.
In a statement made available to one of our correspondents in Abuja by Maku, the minister said Kwankwaso should explain to the people of Kano the role he and the All Progressives Congress played in the emergence of Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as the Emir of Kano, instead of dragging President Goodluck Jonathan to it.

A colleague and ‘brother from another mother” to the late gospel singer, Irikefe Obareki Don Momoh aka Kefee, Sammie Okposo while paying tribute on the singer`s death, opined that there will never be another Kefee. Sammie made this statement during a media chat relayed on Lagos Television (LTV) on Friday 13th ,June 2014.
According to the music artiste, “I was hurt when I heard of the news of her hospital admission and prayed that she recovers soon. Then this morning I got unpalatable news confirming death. That was from her UK management, that she died this morning.
It is not something I will be able to forget easily. I have been trying to add the three letter words, R I P to her name; it is so strange. Kefee`s death is what we should be talking about in the next 80 years after she might have lived a good life.”

I`M ALIVE-EJIRO OKURAME CRIES OUT

The story on the death of two Nollywood actors has been debunked by one of the assumed victims, Ejiro Okurame.  The text message sent to the handset of TNS reporter inter alia and originates from a certain Goldmyne  TV. Blogspot states, “Two Nollywood stars Uchenna Amuta loses and Ejiro Okurame died in one day.”
But a click on the link of the story online reveals the writer had misrepresented late Lizzy Ogbodo for Ejiro as both have slight resemblance and were close friends before the demise of the Nollywood costumier.

HOW REV. OKOTIE RUINED MY LIFE -DAFE,FORMER PIANIST CRIES OUT!

If you have not been there before it may be really interesting getting oneself a vacation there; I mean in one of the many prisons dotting the nooks and crannies of Nigeria. None the less, it could be assumed that no one in his right senses would ever wish his enemies to be a guest of such a beautiful place like the notorious Kirikiri Maximum Prison, Lagos where men are said to be turned to animals and death smells over its dirty and blood stained walls. That haven is where history has it that the super rich and controversial Pastor of the Household of God Church, Reverend Chris Okotie twice sent his former pianist, Okiotor Dafiaghor (popularly known as Dafphee )  to for daring to demand for his unpaid 12 years salary.  In this exclusive interview that lasted up to 4hours, Dafphee who was only recently released on bail pending the determination of his case against his former pastor, recounted to TNS  his  Prison experience
