Thousands of black cabs and licensed taxi drivers blocked roads in central London (left and centre) this afternoon by driving slowly through the capital in protest over a new phone app called Uber. The go-slow protest started from Trafalgar Square and left many parts of the city centre gridlocked. Protests also took place in other major European cities including Madrid, (top right) and Berlin (bottom right). The action follows anger at the introduction of a new phone app called Uber which allows customers to book and track vehicles in their area.
