In a chat with ENCOMIUM Weekly on Friday, June 27, 2014, during the MTN Project Fame All Star concert at LTV 8, Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos, she claimed there was no iota of truth in the allegation. “The story is not true. Funny enough, he is not the only man I was alleged to be dating.”
Singer, Chidinma Ekile and music video director, Clarence Peters were spotted together at the MAMAs held in South Africa. The two, who are single in their relationship status, were seen holding hands at Durban Mall, South Africa. They also walked to the MAMAs red carpet holding each other’s hands and sat side by side during the event. This has raised lots of speculations that the two have become an item as lovers.
Interestingly, this is not the only man to have been alleged to have rocked the tender heart of this young singer. The romance between Prince Charming of Soundcity, Adams and Chidinma has been on the lips of many night crawlers and some of their colleagues, wondering how their closeness suddenly grew.
The two have been reportedly spending a lot of time together since last year and many who have sighted them together believed they were merely hanging out. However, the two started hanging out at different spots synonymous with lovers, and the question on the lips of observers and friends was if indeed their relationship was one of a platonic nature.
Their favourite hangout on the Island, where they were often sighted is the Karaoke Bar beside Movida Nightclub. The two, obviously enjoying each other’s company were usually seen talking and laughing out loud. A source in the know further confirmed their relationship status, adding that a night is never complete for Chidinma without her dear Prince Charming, Adams.
The whole buzz reportedly started sometime last year as a professional relationship but grew stronger over time. While Adams once admitted the rumour, Chidinma later dispelled it, labelling it as falsehood.
Furthermore, there were reports online that NURTW boss, MC Oluomo also had a sizzling romance secretly with her. The rumour was fuelled by what transpired when MC Oluomo splashed N100,000 on her on stage while performing in one of Pasuma’s concerts.

In 2010, she rose to stardom after winning the third season of MTN’s Project Fame West Africa. Following the release of the music video for her Emi Ni Baller single, she became the first female musician to peak at number 1 on the MTV Base Official Naija Top 10 chart.
In 2011, she released her first solo single, Jankoliko, featuring Sound Sultan. Chidinma, her self-titled debut studio album, was released through the music platform Spinlet. Prior to auditioning for the third edition of Project Fame West Africa, she dreamt of being part of the reality TV show that was instituted in 2008. With the help and support from her close knit friend, Chidinma left her home in Ikorodu, Lagos and went to the Ultima Studios, the venue of the show’s 2010 Lagos auditions. She was among the 8,000 or so contestants who went to showcase their talents that year. Subsequently, Chidinma advanced to the Fame Academy round alongside 17 other contestants. For 10 weeks, Chidinma and the other contestants were coached by music professionals: voice coaches, inspirational speakers, established musicians, and music business service providers. Moreover, contestants were taught choreography and several rehearsal drills.
On September 26, 2010, Chidinma became the apparent winner of the competition. She won several prizes, including N2.5 million, a 2011 Toyota RAV4, and an album production.
