I killed my dad in anger-killer son

The 21‑year‑old undergraduate, Tolani Ajayi who killed his father,  Charles Ajayi, last Saturday at the Redemption Camp, in Obafemi Local Government Area of Ogun State  has begged for God’s  forgiveness.
Tolani, a 300-level student of the Department of History and international Relations of the Redeemer University of Nigeria who slaughtered his late father during a prayer session spoke from detention yesterday in Abeokuta, the state capital.
According to the suspected murderer, he was provoked to commit the heinous crime by his father’s audacity to slap him.

Daily Sun reliably gathered that police’s preliminary investigations had revealed that Tolani had in the past, caught twice by the authorities of the university indulging in drugs.
It was further learnt that a trial panel had been set up  to interrogate him on  the allegations and other  related matters before he killed his father.
The accused who was not favourably disposed to speaking with journalists  said he regretted his action .
The boy, who looked sober further told newsmen that he had sent some people to beg his mother for forgiveness.
His words: ” I have sent some people to talk to her (my mother) that I am sorry,  I have talked to my sister,  my mother  is still grieving I want to give her time , it  may be spiritual. I have asked for forgiveness”
On whether he acted on the influence of drugs,  Ajayi who confessed  that  he had been into drugs said:” I tried those drugs myself. I might have heard it from my friends but, I tried it myself.
However, he denied that he acted under he influence of the drugs, saying,  the action was  not planned.
“The incident” happened around 1:am when the church would have been sleeping by then. It was anger that led me into this. My father just bit me repeatedly with his teeth
“There was an argument between us and I stood up to him, he beat me with a stick and bit me with his teeth. Just the two of us were at home my mother was in Abuja.
He added: ” We leaved in Abuja,  I schooled in  Camp,  he came for a programme , then,  my school was on break, so,  I went to meet  him,  we were meant  to go  back to  Abuja together,  then, the incident happened and I am here.
Asked whether he attends  church  activities regularly while in school he said regrettably: “It is not about the church, because I don’t miss church throughout this semester.
The undergraduate suspected killer recalled that his father was the one that first went to the kitchen during the argument and took a wooden spoon to be at him repeatedly.
“My father went to the kitchen and got a stick (wooden spoon)  he  used it  on  me repeatedly and I tried to defend myself,  then he bit me on my shoulder  and I got angry. I used normal   small kitchen knife, then, I used cutlass to attack him .I regret the action.
On how he wants Nigerians to react to the gruesome murder of a father by his son, Tolani said “there is no way Nigerians can help me  I am going to face my judgment, I am meant to pay for what I have done.
” It is not  as if I am ready,  it is something that is inevitable,  something that is going to happen I am just waiting for it”.
